The Nevada Sharks Competitive Softball Program was created in 1992 to enhance the Carson Girls Softball Program (CGS). The goal of the Nevada Sharks is a seamless transition for CGS players to the High School Junior Varsity and Varsity Programs. We look forward to the experience our girls will gain from this partnership.

Sharks Player/Parent Qualities and Expectations

SPORTSMANSHIP - You will show respect for players, umpires and coaches.

HUSTLE/EFFORT - There is no substitute for hard work and you will be continually rewarded for your hard work and effort put forth for your team.

COACHABILITY - Players must be responsive to coaching. Parents must be willing to participate in a supportive roll without attempting to coach your child during any team activities however you will be encouraged to work with your child outside of team activities.

DEDICATION - You must be dedicated to your participation on the Sharks team.

TRAVEL - Tournaments will require traveling throughout Northern Nevada. Some travel to California or other western states is possible.

FUNDRAISING/COST - You will be responsible for participating in fundraising events. An annual player fee will be required to be paid before the annual fundraiser. The player fee will be dependent on the number of allotted Beer & Brat tickets sold. If all allotted tickets are sold the player fee is waived.

Sharks Goals and Objectives

The success of the Sharks team will be based on the individual advancement of each player. The dedication to working hard and effort applied will be reflected in player’s individual advancement of her softball skills. The goal is for every player to advance to the point where they know how, when, where and why to apply their softball skills to help themselves and their team to succeed. The individual advancement of the players will not only be based on softball skills but will also include personal advancement in becoming a successful young adult. 

THE ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO HAVE A GREAT TIME WHILE PLAYING TOURNAMENT SOFTBALL!!!!
